The excitement of travel ends before you actually reach your destination, thanks to the weariness of sitting for hours on board a cramped flight. Don’t you wish you could walk out energized and ready to take on the world? Then you should give FLYOGA a shot. What is Flyoga? Flyoga is a series of modified yoga exercises that you can do comfortably in the confined space of your seat, without provoking your co-passenger. Hermits would sit for hours meditating without any discomfort and feel rejuvenated at the end of the day because they prepared their body with yoga. In Flyoga, we apply the same techniques so that you are comfortable while you are on flight and ensure your metabolism is not sluggish.
Neck rotation Your neck tends to become stiff and tensed when you remain seated in the same position for a long time. Rotate your neck slowly in the clockwise and anticlockwise directions a couple of times.
Spinal twist You don’t want to end up with a stiff back when you are on a vacation. Sit straight and gently twist your body to the right and then to the left as you exhale. This asana not only keeps your spine flexible but also stimulates the digestive system and prevents constipation (a major annoyance while you fly).
Forward bend This asana will help you release the tensed neck and shoulder muscles and also soothes your nerves. Sit straight, inhale and stretch your arms; bend forward to touch the floor as you exhale.
Breathing exercises Simple breathing exercises such as Anuloma Viloma can energize your mind and relieve stress. Also known as the alternate nostril breathing, you inhale, hold and exhale through one nostril at a time by pressing your right nostril with your thumb and your left nostril with ring and little finger while keeping the index and middle finger tucked.
