Father is that special man in every child's life.
Father's day is dedicated to every Father who looks after that every single said and unsaid need of his family. The one who portrays to be very strong but is as soft within as one could be.
The concept of Father's Day originated in Spokane, Washington by a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd. The thought of Father's Day occurred to her while attending a sermon on Mother's Day in 1909.
Her father brought up Sonora after her mother died. He selflessly carried out all the responsibilities of a mother and a father to this children .
Sonora's father's birthday falls in June and hence she held the first Father's Day celebration in Spokane on 19th June 1910.
In New York City, a national Father's day committee was formed in 1926. Further in 1956 the congress passed a joint resolution for recognition of Father's day.
Finally in 1972, President Richard Nixon declared a national observance for Father's day on the third Sunday of June every year.
Thus from that day, people celebrate Father's day in June and every child irrespective of age express their love and devotion to their Father.
This day is widely celebrated worldwide and Father's are showered with gifts, dinners and special thanks on this day from their children.
